RFID luminous search management: Make “finding things” as easy as turning on a light

Have you ever had the experience of struggling to find something in a pile of documents, dense cables, or a warehouse full of goods? Now, there is a small tool called RFID luminous tag that can make “finding things” as easy as “turning on a light”.

What is RFID luminous search management?

RFID is a wireless technology that can identify items by “scanning” tags. And RFID luminous tags are tags with a small LED light added to them.

When you select a tag with a dedicated handheld device (like an advanced barcode scanner), it will “light up”! This light can tell you “the thing is here!” – you don’t have to rummage through boxes anymore.

These tags are “passive”, which means they do not require batteries and are activated by the signal of the reader. This tag uses ultra-high frequency (UHF 860-960 MHz) and can be sensed by the reader up to 10 meters away.

They can be attached to a variety of surfaces – paper, plastic, and even metal surfaces have special versions. The label size is about 50x50mm, and it can also be customized.

What is it used for?

1. Find files faster
For example, in government units, hospitals, and libraries, a large number of important documents come in and out every day. Affix an RFID luminous label to each document, and the staff only needs to scan it with the device, and the named file will “light up” and the location can be seen immediately.
No more flipping through dozens of folders, efficiency is improved at once!

2. No more headaches for identifying cables
In the computer room, thousands of cables are tangled together, and it is easy to pull the wrong one. Now, engineers only need to aim at the luminous label, and the target cable will light up. Knowing which one to pull out at once is safe and efficient, not prone to mistakes, and can also reduce downtime.

3. Warehouse picking is like “finding treasure”
In the warehouse, each piece of goods can be affixed with a luminous label. After the employee receives the order, he scans it with the equipment, and the goods on the shelf “light up” by themselves. This treasure hunt-like approach greatly reduces the chances of picking errors and speeds up shipments.

How does it do this?

The secret of luminous search management is that it uses an RFID tag with an LED light. This tag has a chip inside, such as Impinj Monza R6, Ucode 9, M730. Each tag has a unique number.

When you select a number with a handheld device, the small light on the tag will light up, marking the “selected item”. This method is not only accurate, but also can find multiple things at a time, which is very suitable for locating specific items in a chaotic environment.

These tags can be typed through thermal transfer or thermal printers, or pre-written with data, and are compatible with EPC Gen2 V2 protocol.
