Nowadays, more and more people buy things online, especially overseas shopping has become very convenient. However, with more express delivery, there are more cartons, which creates a lot of garbage, and it also costs oil and money to transport.
In order to make express delivery more environmentally friendly, our company has done a cool thing: invented a recyclable express box with an RFID chip. In short, it is not only reusable, but also can be tracked by the system at any time like a “express ID card”, who uses it, where, and whether it is recycled, all clear!
What is RFID? What is it used for?
RFID is a wireless technology that can read information without contact. Our express box has a 100×33 mm RFID tag attached to it, which contains a chip called Alien H9 or Ucode 8/9. These chips can be customized according to customer needs.
It operates at a frequency of 860 to 960MHz, uses the international standard ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol, and belongs to ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID. In short, it can be “read” by the system within a few meters and can be tracked without getting close.
Moreover, the material of this label can be selected from coated paper, PVC or PET, all of which have one feature: waterproof, sun-proof, and not afraid of wind and rain. It is very suitable for scenes like express boxes running around!
How powerful is our express box?
This express box is not only “smart”, but also very strong:
Size: 600×500×400mm
Weight is only 740 grams, which is 35.9% lighter than traditional cartons
Can withstand more than 160 kilograms of pressure, so there is no need to worry about being crushed
The material is woven cloth + foam skeleton, which is both light and durable
The box is lighter, the burden on the plane is less, and the transportation cost is saved.
It’s actually already in use!
We started trialing these boxes on cross-border routes between China and France at the end of 2023. The effect is very good! Now, e-commerce platforms like SHEIN have also started using them. It is planned that by the end of 2024, 20,000 of these boxes will be used on this route every day.
This is not just our company’s efforts – it is influencing the entire industry, making more logistics companies start to think about how to ship more environmentally friendly.
