RFID technology is making our traffic smarter!

What is RFID?

The full name of RFID is “radio frequency identification”, which is actually like attaching an “invisible ID card” to cars, cards, and items. These ID cards have chips, and as long as they are close to the card reader, they can be “identified”, just as fast as face recognition.

1. High-speed ETC, so you don’t have to queue
In the past, you had to stop, open the window, find change, and wait for invoices when passing through toll booths… Now with the ETC system of RFID tags, the car will automatically deduct the fee when it drives past, without stopping or taking out the card.

2. Cross-border travel is also easy
For example, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge uses two frequencies of RFID technology (5.8GHz + 900MHz), which can meet the toll collection systems of the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao at the same time, realizing true “senseless travel”. No matter where you drive, the system can recognize who you are at a glance and automatically collect fees without stopping or changing equipment.

3. Check fake license plates, accurate and efficient
Wuhan piloted the use of RFID technology to identify fake license plates, with an accuracy rate of up to 98.7%, and 20 times faster than manual inspection. As long as the car passes by, the system can identify whether it is a “fake”, and there is no need to worry about fake cars getting in.
